This anthology is an outlier inasmuch as it incorporates poems earthly
and lowbrow within a a volume devoted primarily to themes spiritual
and religious. The soul-searching and tension generated
by the correlation of such incompatible material, receives
attention in this volume's ditty entitled HotchPotch. If at the end of
the day the incongruity seems tolerable, it may be because Heaven is seldom lost sight of. Heaven remains the cynosure while exploring life's complexity and ordinariness; not least when exploring conventions or challenging them.
