Wisdom of Bat Sheva is a collection of articles contributed in memory of Dr. Beth Samuels (1975-2007), who was a math professor as well as a Jewish educator. This collection includes articles written in both English and Hebrew by academic and lay scholars, including an article by Dr. Samuels on literary interpretations of numbers in the book of Genesis. The articles focus thematically on biblical and talmudic exegesis, Jewish theology and philosophy as well as gender issues within Jewish texts. Several articles also incorporate secular academic fields of study ranging from science and mathematics to literature and law and use interdisciplinary techniques to shed new light on classical Jewish topics.
