From the Heart of a Lion is a unique combination of in-depth essays on the weekly Torah portion within the Book of Bereishis coupled with inspiring personal stories. Readers of wide Jewish background will appreciate the synthesis of textual analysis with motivational thoughts. The focus upon truth and emotion can be felt in every essay and story. About the Author: Rabbi Aryeh Cohen learned in Yeshivas Kerem B’Yavneh, Yeshiva University, Lander’s Beis Medrash LeTalmud, where he received his semicha, and Yeshivas Mir Yerushalayim, where he forged a special relationship with R. Nosson Tzvi Finkel, ztz”l. He has taught young men and women in DRS Yeshiva High School, as well as SKA and NCSY Kollel Summer programs. After serving as a 12th grade Rebbe in DRS for the past 10 years, he now also serves as the Mashgiach Ruchani of the Yeshiva. He is well known for his unique combination of penchant Torah thoughts and analytic learning style, coupled with his warm and enthusiastic shiurim in which he seamlessly weaves classic meforshim and mussar ideas with chassidus, machshava and gematrias. One cannot help but be inspired after walking away from one of his shiurim, as his heart is felt in every thought. He has mentored hundreds of talmidim during their high school and post-high school years, who remain closely connected to their Rebbe. Whether at his Thursday night shiur for alumni in his home, his shalosh seudos meals and tishin with scores of talmidim, purim seudas, late night slichos at the Ohel of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, trips to kivrei tzadikim in Europe, or dancing at the Kosel until the early morning hours, he is beloved by his talmidim for his sincerity and for the lifelong bonds he forges with them. He resides in Cedarhurst, N.Y. with his wife and five children.
