With the occupation of Poland, the Germans began to deport Jews from towns and villages in order to concentrate them in preparation of the planned annihilation. A large portion of the deportees were concentrated in Warsaw and pressed into the confines of the ghetto. Large numbers succumbed to death from hunger, disease and infection. This book deals with the implications of the deportations on the life of the Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto.
