John T. Townsend

John Townsend is Professor of Judaism and Biblical Languages at the Episcopal Divinity School. Long active in the movement to improve Jewish-Christian relations, he has devoted much effort toward the elimination of the anti-Jewish bias of traditional Christian teachings, most notably through the National Conference of Christians and Jews. In addition, he has contributed to many scholarly collections and journals, including bibliographies of rabbinic sources and midrashim for the two volumes of The Study of Judaism.
