Fred Rosner was born in Berlin, Germany, and escaped the Nazi regime on the one of the last Kindertransport boats to the United Kingdom at the age of 3. After completing his undergraduate studies at Yeshiva University, Rosner graduated as a Medical Doctor from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1959. He is currently Assistant Dean and professor of medicine at the College, as well as Professor of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and Director of the Department of Medicine at Queens Hospital Center. Fred Rosner is the Chairman of the Medical Ethics Committee of the state of New York. Rosner has published 29 books, 39 chapters in books and many other articles, numbering almost 800. These include articles on Jewish medical ethics and Jewish medical history, as well as multiple facets of haematology. He has also written on Maimonides. He has lectured extensively throughout the world.
