Esther Rafaeli

Esther Rafaeli was born in Tel Aviv in 1922, to Polish parents.

In 1927 the family moved to Australia, where she spent her childhood, and graduated from Melbourne University with a degree in English Language and Literature. She worked as a journalist for the Australian Jewish Herald before making Aliya with her brother in 1949. She met her Polish-born husband in Israel and together they had 4 children, residing in Jerusalem for 50 years. 

Esther was a full time mother, who wrote for her own enjoyment, but she also received a second degree in English Literature and Special Education from Hebrew University, Jerusalem. 

Her writing has been published in both Hebrew and English. She passed away in 2014.
