Dovid Katz

Dovid Katz was born in New York City, and is one of the world's most well known authorities on the dialects, history and origins of the Yiddish language and the culture of Litvak, or Lithuanian Jewry of North Eastern Europe. He has written and edited many books on the topic, and is the founder of the Yiddish Studies programs at both Oxford University in Britain and Vilnius University in Lithuania.
